Lovaas Institute Video

This is a promo video for the Institute, but certainly can help disseminate important information about Applied Behavior Analysis intervention in autism. It emphasizes some important components, such as:
  • Data-based
  • Individualization
  • Keep child successful
  • Discrete-trials teaching
  • Incidental teaching
  • Family involvement
  • Intensity
  • Target skills (language, social skills, daily living, play, etc)
  • Typical (ideal) schedule of sessions
  • Instructor training
  • Continuing contact with literature and advances in the field
Nice to see a brief comment on the fact that not all children progress to meet the 'best outcome' criterion Lovaas identified and still benefit incredibly from the intervention, and another brief comment on the variation of repertoires children with autism present with.

Would have been nice to hear 'Applied Behavior Analysis' more than twice, and less repetitions of the "Lovaas Method". But, well, this is not an educational video on ABA, it is a well made video to present and promote the Institute and with it, it also educates about ABA.

Good resource.
