Meta-Analysis - Autism Treatment

It is amazing but the evidence is still not enough to convince many who keep asking us for more evidence, more studies. I guess that the number of studies, analysis and meta-analysis one day will be enough. So welcome more paper on our pile, more reference in our lists. We get asked for this information all the time anyways so let's keep it in the files. The study is not just out of the oven, but is quite recent: 2008. This is only a snippet:

The study demonstrated, in short, that EIBI for children with autism has a large effect on the intellectual function of children with autism and a moderate effect on adaptive behavior (i.e., communication, socialization, and daily living skills). The results of the meta-analysis support the notion that in the absence of other empirically supported treatment, early intensive behavioral intervention should be the treatment of choice for children with autism.
