The Autism Special Interest Group of the Association for Behavior Analysis International has released the updated Consumer Guidelines for Identifying, Selecting, and Evaluating Behavior Analysts Working with Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. This is an invaluable contribution of this group to protect not only consumers of Behavior Analysis services, but also Behavior Analysts. The supply of Behavior Analysts does not remotely address the demands that currently exist for behavioral services for individuals with developmental disabilities and autism, which increases the likelihood of unqualified providers. With the work of groups like this SIG and the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) we can only be strengthened as a professional group.
