Michigan $310,000 Funded by Kelogg Foundation

First I am wondering if the actual report EQUALS Applied Behavior Analysis and Social Stories when it considers both evidence-based practices. If for no other reason, because one is one strategy and the other is an entire field of strategies. Second, the vast majority of individuals I have met who reported using social stories, had no real methodology for their use. From the news piece:

“Both applied behavior analysis and social stories are established, evidence-based practices for teaching students with (autism), so this was an important finding,” Ferreri said in a statement.

Here is hoping that this was just a poor choice of statements to represent the study. The teachers do need a lot more training if they are going to be expected to implement sound strategies. Same goes for the essential paraprofessionals who support them in the classroom. I hope that this helps them get it.
